[Oh, oh okay that's a thing that's happening. He blinks slowly at the hand reaching for him, not... entirely sure what's going on.

But he does pause and try to think through the whole situation logically. And is quietly removing his hat again and just tossing it a bit away to somewhere probably safe for later.]

[Getting the permission to touch he actually sit ups on the bed. Progress! He's still wrapped in the blankets but he did scoot closer to Hol and is very gently letting his thumb trace over the mark on his head.]

[Unfortunately he can't stop himself from flinching somewhat as he moves his hand to touch, it has nothing to do with Dimitri and everything to do with himself. Though he seems to settle once he's actually touching it, a soft huff of breath he hadn't realized he was holding finally allowed.

Dumb luck. The skull's a lot... stronger than most people might think and it wasn't a direct or purposeful shot on my part. Just a... fuck up, mostly. That and I can unsummon the bullets the same I do with the gun, but it'd already done damage by the time I'd realized what happened.

He wouldn't have allowed Dimitri to touch him at all if he had a problem with him. Still he doesn't touch the mark much more, instead cupping his chin.]

[He's getting... better about it being touched or acknowledged, but it'll probably still take some time for him to be completely okay with it all. What he doesn't expect is his chin being cupped and actually looks a bit surprised by it.

Hey, it... was enough to get me to cut the shit and retire from the whole business. Got out better than most. [He'd thought he'd only retire from the mercenary life or, really, working for Dio once he was dead. The irony isn't lost on him that he's technically dead here, but that's certainly not at the forefront of his mind.]
